Milan stopper Thiago Silva has urged his club to sign his Brazilian teammate Ganso as soon as possible.

The Santos starlet was heavily linked with a move to the Rossoneri in recent months, but it has all gone quiet – especially after he picked up an injury recently.

"I have talked to Ganso and he is recovering in record time from his muscle strain," Silva told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "He wants to play in the Copa America and he wants Milan.

"I have read that the deal has come to a stop. I have read that he may arrive in December, but that's no good, Ganso must be taken now. This is the right time.

"To me, it seems like Milan have very clear ideas on how to strengthen the squad. Next year we will try to win everything.

"With the right purchases, we won't feel envious of Barcelona. That's why I said that we must not lose any time with Ganso."

Milan just ended the previous campaign as Italian champions, but the South American has grand plans for next term.

"I want to lift the Champions League trophy," he continued. "It is a dream that I've had ever since I was a little child."

The central-defender, who was handed a contract extension until June 2016 last month, is also glad to see his name omitted from the transfer rumour mill.

"Finally Real Madrid and Barcelona have understood that I want to stay with the Rossoneri for the rest of my life," he underlined.
