Thiago Motta takes the blame for Spezia‘s 6-1 defeat against Lazio: ‘We know we must do more.’
Daniele Verde had put the Aquilotti ahead, but a hat-trick from Ciro Immobile and goals from Elseid Hysaj, Felipe Anderson and Luis Alberto gave Lazio all three points, with Spezia reduced to ten men after 54 minutes.
“We didn’t play a good game, and we are aware we must do more,” Thiago Motta told DAZN.
“We were 2-0 up against Cagliari and we almost lost the game. We even started too well today, but we must improve and this is only my responsibility,” the former midfielder added.
“We spoke inside the dressing room and from the next game, we’ll see a different team, for sure.
“We struggled in defence against a strong team, we tried to recover the ball as early as possible, but we couldn’t manage to do so. Now we have two weeks to prepare the game against Udinese.”
