Sky Sport Italia reports Spezia are on the verge of completing a deal with Thiago Motta and could announce the new coach tomorrow.

The former Italy international has already coached in Serie A and in Liguria, as he was in charge of local rivals Genoa.

Sky Sport Italia claims he is close to joining the Aquilotti, who are looking for a new coach as Vincenzo Italiano moved to Fiorentina this summer.

The Bianconeri are reportedly ready to complete the operation on Monday and start preparing for the new season.

Thiago Motta, who started as a coach with the Paris Saint-Germain U19 team, only lasted 10 games with the Rossoblu in Serie A

The 38-year-old picked up two wins with the Rossoblu and has been without a job since he was sacked by the Grifone in December 2019.
