Bologna coach Thiago Motta explains why Marko Arnautovic has recovered, but won’t play against Juventus, while he insists his future will be discussed ‘at the right time.’
The Serie A match kicks off at the Stadio Dall’Ara on Sunday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).
Juve are struggling badly with elimination from the Coppa Italia semi-final to Inter and three consecutive Serie A defeats, giving Bologna a huge opportunity to get a big result this weekend.
Roberto Soriano and Nicola Sansone are out of the squad, but so is Arnautovic, who is still their top scorer this season despite a lengthy injury lay-off.
“Arnautovic is medically healed, but now he needs to get his fitness levels back, as let us not forget the last time he played a full match was on January 4. It is different for Cambiaso, who is in good shape and can play,” said Thiago Motta in his press conference.
“We will face Juventus with a great deal of determination and try to give our all.”
There have been many rumours around the future of the coach, including links with Inter and Paris Saint-Germain for the next step of his management career.
“We will talk about it at the right time. There is no rush to sit down and discuss the best solutions for everyone. Right now, my future is the next game with Juventus.”
The 40-year-old tactician took the job in September 2022 and in Serie A has overseen 11 wins, five draws and nine defeats to steer them into mid-table comfort.
