Theo Hernandez has won the Gran Gala del Calcio award for the best Serie A goal of 2021-22, the coast to coast against Atalanta. ‘I am what I am thanks to Milan.’
The full-back picked up the ball from inside his own half and skipped away from defenders until finishing off the solo move by sweeping past the goalkeeper.
“I still remember the noise that erupted when the ball went in,” smiled Theo Hernandez as he accepted the award onstage.
“I am proud of this award and want to make the Milan fans happy.”
The France international is often linked with a move to the Premier League or even to Paris Saint-Germain, but he reassured the Rossoneri.
“The coach encouraged me to attack from the first day and I really improved here. I am what I am thanks to the coach, to Paolo Maldini, Frederic Massara and Milan. Thank you to them all.”
