Theo Hernandez said Milan ‘knew it was difficult’ in the Coppa Italia against Inter, but the 0-0 ‘home’ draw gives them the advantage.

The first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final at San Siro ended goalless, with ‘home side’ Milan having the best chance, a Rafael Leao curler palmed away one-handed by Samir Handanovic.

This means that if the second leg ends in a score draw, then the Rossoneri will progress on ‘away’ goals, just as they did in the 2003 Champions League semi-final.

Coppa Italia | Milan 0-0 Inter: Derby stalemate leaves semi-final open

“We played a good game, we knew it was difficult, but there is another leg to play so we can reach the Final,” Theo Hernandez told Mediaset.

“We are giving our all, working day by day and having an incredible season. We’ve got to keep going and win.

“We had chances to score, it’s true that we cannot win if we don’t score, but we played well and now we wait for the second leg.”

Before that, the Rossoneri visit Napoli this weekend in a Serie A showdown for the Scudetto.

  1. It was the most boring derby in the past 10 years, both team are out of form…

But Theo is right, any goal scored away is heavier!
