Theo Hernandez admits he scored ‘an incredible goal’ and reveals what he was thinking as he started that run to beat Atalanta 2-0. ‘I am very happy to be at Milan.’

The fifth Serie A win on the bounce was secured at San Siro thanks to Rafael Leao on a Junior Messias assist and Theo Hernandez starting the run from his own penalty area to surge forward and shake off challenges.

DAZN calculated he travelled 95 metres with the ball at his feet in a zig-zag motion to score the goal.

Atalanta had protests, claiming there were fouls in the build-up of both those goals, but Mike Maignan only had two real saves to make.

This result means if Inter don’t beat Cagliari in Sardinia this evening, then Milan will be crowned Serie A Champions with a round to spare.

“I do everything for this team, it’s an incredible evening with all our people. After such a long time, they are very happy and I am very happy to be playing for Milan,” Theo Hernandez told DAZN.

“I started and thought I’m going all the way. It was an incredible goal, but the hard work of all the teammates and the fans made it possible.

“I am glad my son was here to see it, it’s a wonderful night. We are close, we are a week away from the Scudetto, we need to give our all and that’s it. We’re very happy.”

Theo Hernandez was asked if Milan will now gather to watch the Cagliari-Inter match?

“No, I want to see my son now and that’s it.”
