Watch as Theo Hernandez rides two tackles and scores from an improbable angle to give Milan the lead against Verona, though his celebration got him into trouble.

The full-back is no stranger to going it alone in Serie A, famously running from one end of the pitch to the other to find the net.

This time around the run started in the final third, but it did have more obstacles in his way, namely two challenges and a very tight angle.

However, Theo Hernandez was booked for his ‘provocative’ celebration and seemed utterly bemused at the response.

According to DAZN, coach Marco Baroni misinterpreted the ‘shrug’ that was a repeat of Federico Dimarco’s usual celebration for Inter, then Hernandez made an irritated ‘keep talking’ gesture with his hand, which was spotted by the referee.

Baroni then cleared the air with Theo Hernandez, who assured it wasn’t intended to provoke anyone in the Verona crowd, but the damage was done already.

That yellow card means that Theo Hernandez will be suspended for Milan’s next Serie A match, a trip to Fiorentina.
