Despite guiding Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years, Luciano Spalletti’s future at the club cannot be taken for granted and he’ll meet with Aurelio De Laurentiis soon to discuss things.

The 64-year-old Italian coach transformed the Partenopei into a dominant force in Italy this season, perfectly utilising the new signings like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Kim Min-Jae to break a three-decade long wait in the Campania capital.

Although Napoli recently secured their league title, multiple reports have emerged in the media suggesting that there’s tension between Spalletti and De Laurentiis, something that’ll need to be resolved soon.

Via TMW, La Gazzetta dello Sport details how Spalletti is ready to sit down for talks with De Laurentiis regarding his Napoli future, but wants two specific things to be clarified.

The first is the future of director Cristiano Giuntoli and the plans for the summer transfer window, and the second factor is his wages.

Spalletti currently earns around €2.8m net per season, far less than his counterparts at Milan, Inter and Juventus, and he’s hoping for a raise to €4.5m, believing his Scudetto success justifies the increase.

De Laurentiis, however, is unlikely to offer more than a base salary of €3.5m net, although add-ons could help reach the coach’s requests.
