Goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic has been the hero for Croatia at the World Cup in Qatar and he’s been linked with moves to Serie A on multiple occasions in the past.

The 27-year-old Croatian shot stopper shined in the penalty shoot-out against Japan in the Round of 16, saving three of four attempts, and he continued to prove his abilities in Croatia’s quarter-final clash with Brazil, making a number of saves in the game and keeping out the first penalty in the shoot-out.

Back in 2018, Livakovic discussed his dream of playing for the Croatian national team to TuttoMercatoWeb.

“To be called up by the Croatian national team is the dream of every compatriot of mine who plays football, and I believe I have the qualities to make an impression on the coach’s choices.”

Over the past few years, multiple Italian teams have been interested in bringing Livakovic over to the peninsula. Initially Fiorentina and Napoli were keen before Inter joined them, but none managed to tempt the goalkeeper to leave Croatia. Lazio were even keen on a move in the summer of 2022 before picking up Luis Maximiano and Ivan Provedel.

Livakovic has been with Dinamo Zagreb since 2015 and is contracted to the club until 2024. Considering his heroics in Qatar, Italian teams could try to make another move for the 27-year-old.
