Juventus are linked with a move for unhappy Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but there are pros and cons to a possible deal.
The Bianconeri are looking for a forward who can be signed on a loan deal without an obligation to buy clause attached, as well as a player who is experienced and ready to jump into Massimiliano Allegri’s squad.
There are doubts regarding a possible move for Barcelona’s Memphis Depay and Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauro Icardi. A deal for Olympique Marseille’s Arkadiusz Milik would also be tough to pull off, and Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca and Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic both seem to be out of reach in next month’s transfer market.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, this is why Juventus are seriously considered making a move for Aubameyang, who is currently in a tough position at Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
Allegri is a fan of the 32-year-old Gabonese forward, appreciating his experience and desire, and the Gunners are open to a loan deal with a buy option attached. A Bianconeri player could be sent the other way, with players like Arthur and Dejan Kulusevski being discussed, but there are some cons to a deal for the Arsenal forward.
The first one is related to his salary, which would be a significant expense, although this is understandable considering his value and quality.
The other major drawback to the deal is the Africa Cup of Nations; should Gabon find themselves in the latter stages of the competition, Juventus could find themselves without Aubameyang for a number of weeks and there are concerns over a player’s condition following the tournament.
These cons are not enough to push the Bianconeri to look elsewhere yet and Aubameyang is not their only option, leaving the Turin club to consider their options ahead of next month’s transfer window.
