Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund has scored six goals in 20 appearances across all competitions this season and according to Gazzetta, the ‘next Erling Haaland’ is already worth €40m.
The 20-year-old joined La Dea from Strum Graz for €17m last summer and has had an immediate impact at the Gewiss Stadium, with Atalanta in the race for a Champions League spot this season.
“He has very similar characteristics to Haaland, not just his face,” Atalanta boss Gasperini said on Saturday after a 2-0 win against Lazio inspired by a goal of the Denmark international.
“He is so quick, he’s under 11 seconds over 100m and that’s not even trying very hard. Considering his height, he has a low centre of gravity and can move his legs very fast. I am convinced he’ll have a great career, he just gets stronger every day.”
According to Gazzetta, the striker’s price tag ‘has at least doubled’ so the 20-year-old is now worth at least €40m.
The pink paper reports that several European clubs are already monitoring the promising striker who has a contract until June 2027 in Bergamo.
‘The feeling is that Atalanta want to enjoy him for some time unless they receive offers impossible to turn down,’ wrote Gazzetta in today’s edition.
Hojlund’s teammate Ademola Lookman has also been impressive with 12 Serie A goals this season and according to Gazzetta, the ex-RB Leipzig striker is now worth €25m. Last summer, Atalanta signed him from the Bundesliga side for just €9m.
