Jorginho has often been a divisive figure and his positions with Arsenal and Italy perfectly exemplify this, being useful for Arsenal but failing to impress for Italy.

The 31-year-old Italian-Brazilian moved across London in the January transfer window, ending a four and a half year spell with Chelsea to join the Gunners on an 18-month contract.

Since Jorginho’s arrival at Arsenal, he’s proven himself a useful and reliable member of the squad, forcing a key own goal from Emiliano Martinez in a 4-2 comeback win over Aston Villa.

Whilst the midfielder’s stocks are on the rise amongst Arsenal supporters, it’s an entirely different story for the Azzurri faithful, who are ready to see the back of the 31-year-old.

Jorginho infamously missed two vital penalties in Italy’s ill-fated 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign and he’s looked entirely unconvincing in his last three outings under Roberto Mancini, prompting many fans to call for him to be phased out of the squad.

Whilst the 31-year-old’s adventure with Arsenal is only just getting started, his time in the Azzurri may be coming to a close, especially as the next generation look to break into the team.

  1. He’s been the biggest weak link for the national team. I never rated him. Castrovilli, Sensi, Frattesi, Barella, Tonali, Veratti, Pellegrini and Bonaventura have always been better.

  2. Simply can’t forgive him for his three consecutive misses, Inc the north Macedonia goal ,he isn’t the same player when he plays for the azzurri and has lost his bottle. Give tonali the start he deserves
