The Italian Government has reportedly rejected the request by Serie A President Paolo Dal Pino, who asked for €600m to help prevent an ‘economic crisis’.

“Football is close to an economic and financial crisis,” Dal Pino said last weekend, and Serie A clubs argue the closure of stadiums and the suspension of Leagues during the last lockdown have cause an extensive damage.

“Football is close to an economic and financial crisis,” Dal Pino said last weekend, and Serie A clubs argue the closure of stadiums and the suspension of Leagues during the last lockdown have cause an extensive damage.
Many of the clubs are pushed to the brink of bankruptcy and the past problems are added to the recent ones, with the second wave closing the stadiums and causing new economic issues.
The Government has not prioritised football and rejected the request for €600m and the request to postpone the payment of personal income tax on players’ salaries.
