Milan are looking to permanently sign Alessandro Florenzi and it seems likely that they’ll secure a small discount on the Roma owned full back.

The 31-year-old Italian impressed this season under Stefano Pioli, filling in at multiple roles as he helped the Rossoneri win their first Scudetto in a decade. After experiences abroad with Valencia and Paris Saint-Germain, Florenzi has now finally found his footing again in Italy.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are working with Roma to try and permanently sign Florenzi, convinced that he’s still a key part of Pioli’s squad in Lombardy.

The two clubs have been in contact for days and the Rossoneri’s first offer was €2.5m. This was considered too low by Tiago Pinto, but an agreement can likely be reached on the basis of around €3-3.5m.

It seems like a matter of time now until the two teams finalise things, with the transfer being a good fit for all parties involved.

  1. A bad deal. A 31 year old for the right back. We should not do this. We have Calabria. He should be competing with Saelemakers, who is a right back and not a winger. Absolutely against that signing

  2. Florenzi will also be backup for Theo I suppose. And he is Italian and a leader off the pitch as well. Absolutely delighted, especially that we got a small discount too.

  3. Milan need Italians to regulate with CL registration where certain amount of Italian-club’s ex-youth players registered, this transfer is understandable in that sense.

  4. This transfer is understandable in every way. Towards the end of the season he was paying better than Calabria.

  5. I don’t know how anyone can be opposed to this. He played on the flank, in midfield, and on defense at various points this season. Maybe he jack of all trades and master of none, but he provides quality depth and versatility.

  6. I agree with Milan Fan, he was better than Calabria at the end of the season. I’d have Florenzi as first choice next season, we need to find a youngster for 2 years time though.
