The coaches who could replace Allegri at Juventus

Doubts continue to be raised around the future of Max Allegri at Juventus, so options to replace him include Igor Tudor, Thiago Motta, Roberto De Zerbi, Vincenzo Italiano, Raffaele Palladino and Antonio Conte.

The coach has been one of the few consistent figures at the helm during the last few months, which saw the entire board of directors resign in the wake of the investigation into financial irregularities.

So far, that has seen the club docked 10 Serie A points for artificially inflating transfer fees to boost capital gains, with more penalties expected in the salary manoeuvres.

However, the performances on the field and style of football have still irked many fans and players, who feel Allegri is too negative in his approach.

Should he be fired at the end of the season, La Gazzetta dello Sport points to Tudor as the favourite to replace him.

It would be a return, as Tudor was both a player at Juventus, then an assistant manager to Andrea Pirlo, before branching out on his own as the coach of Olympique Marseille.

Current Bologna boss Thiago Motta is another candidate, who has also been linked with a future at PSG.

Sergio Conceicao was mentioned by some, having eliminated Juve from the Champions League last season at the helm of FC Porto.

Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano is attracting interest from more than just Juve, as Napoli are also considering him as the heir to Luciano Spalletti, but there is reportedly a €10m release clause in his contract.

Roberto De Zerbi is another tactician getting a lot of clubs chasing him, but seems more likely to remain in the Premier League with Brighton and Hove Albion after steering them into the Europa League.

Raffaele Palladino would fit the bill as a former Juventus player who has achieved great things with Monza this term.

As Spalletti is leaving Napoli and director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli is linked with Juve, there could be a reunion, but the coach has linked he is taking a sabbatical instead.

The option of a return to Turin of Antonio Conte is always there, although if they really do have to tighten the purse strings and be out of Europe, his salary and demands on the transfer market will be almost impossible to cover.
