Roberto De Zerbi’s impressive spell in the Premier League with Brighton has catapulted him into the spotlight and has begun being linked with a move to some of Europe’s top clubs in recent weeks.

The 43-year-old has continued to exceed expectations with the Seagulls after joining from Sassuolo in the aftermath of Graham Potter’s departure to Chelsea in September.

Now with genuine and realistic ambitions of taking Brighton to the Europa League next season, De Zerbi is attracting the interest of even bigger clubs both in England and in Italy.

His name is on the list of candidates to replace compatriot Antonio Conte at Tottenham after his contract was terminated by mutual consent on Sunday evening.

Inter were reportedly also eyeing him up to replace Simone Inzaghi in the summer if he is to leave the Nerazzurri.

However, the cost of attaining De Zerbi’s services will likely be too expensive for a number of clubs he has been linked with recently.

Under chairman Tony Bloom on the English south coast, De Zerbi currently earns around €5m per season according to reports in Calciomercato.

Their recent story also details a clause in De Zerbi’s contract which makes an imminent departure seem unlikely at present.

De Zerbi has a termination clause in his contract, which means if any club were serious about pinching him from Brighton, they would have to pay a fee of €13m to release him from his current deal.

Tuttomercato also predicts that there is an 80% chance that De Zerbi will remain at Brighton for the time being.
