“He’s player who will be at the end of the contract, so he’s an interesting player from an economic point of view,” Maldini told Telefoot on November 27.

Thauvin scored the opener for Olympique Marseille in their home 3-1 win against Nantes on Saturday. After the game he thanked Milan’s technical director for his words.
“When such a legend speaks like this about me I can only be happy,” he told Telefoot.
“Obviously, it moved me. I really thank him.”
Thauvin’s contract expires in June 2021 and according to several reports in Italy the Rossoneri will offer him a €3m-a-year deal, trying to sign him as a free agent at the end of the season.
