Carlos Tevez’s agent confirms “talks are continuing with other interested clubs,” while Leonardo warns PSG “won’t go crazy” to sign him.

The Manchester City striker reportedly rejected a €37m transfer to Paris Saint-Germain late last night, as he wants to push through the Milan move.

“We are simply half-way through negotiations with PSG,” agent Kia Joorabchian told Le Parisien newspaper.

“I don’t want to give details, but we are still a long way off reaching an agreement. After all, we are continuing talks with the other interested clubs. Do I mean Inter and Milan? I don’t need to confirm what is written in the newspapers.

“All I can say is that if Carlo Ancelotti weren’t the Coach of PSG, then we wouldn’t even be in Paris talking about it. I consider him to be one of the best managers in the world, perhaps even the best.”

However, Milan remain the preferred destination for Tevez and Paris Saint-Germain director general Leonardo is aware of that.

“It is a complex negotiation process, but we are not prepared to go crazy in order to sign him,” Leonardo told French television.

“We know that taking the player means making sacrifices, but if we don’t achieve a deal then there’s no problem. The team remains competitive and that’s the important thing.

“We have to protect the club, which means buying only players who believe in our project and are truly interested in coming here.”
