Juventus striker Carlos Tevez insists he gets on well with Argentina teammate Lionel Messi, and calls him ‘the best in the world’.

Back in his home nation for the Copa America, Tevez was asked whether something important was being discussed, with rumours the pair don’t get along.

“No, it was nothing,” the striker replied, speaking to Clarin.

“No, it was nothing,” the striker replied, speaking to Clarin.

“Messi and I have laughed together about everything that’s been said. All it takes is a look or a hug to say a lot of things, there’s no need to say anything.

“We spoke, as is natural, before the World Cup final. We talked after the World Cup too, he greeted me with a hug and we talked about football for two hours.

“I said before the Champions League final: Messi is the best in the world, and no-one can do the things he does. You can’t compare him with me, or anyone else.

“‘Messi and Tevez are friends’ doesn’t sell newspapers. ‘Messi and Tevez are enemies’ will.”
