As Chelsea fans weigh up the qualities of dismissed coach Thomas Tuchel, former captain John Terry suggested that Roma’s Jose Mourinho was still the best to take to the Blues dugout.

The Portuguese coach spent three years with in West London from 2004 to 2007, and two more from 2013 to 2015, where he won three Premier League titles, an FA Cup, three EFL Cups and an FA Community Shield. Mourinho’s time with Chelsea was always entertaining, both on and off the pitch, and he’s still held in high regard by Stamford Bridge regulars.

Reporter Olivia Buzaglo highlighted her disappointment at Chelsea’s decision to sack Tuchel and suggested that there’s “no manager in world football” that she’d take over the German, but former captain Terry disagrees.

Responding to her comments, Terry said: “Jose 100%. I have never seen anything like Jose, the level of detail he knew about the team and individuals was incredible.

“He named the Barcelona team the night before we played them at the bridge. No debate on this!”

Terry spent 19 years of his career with the Blues, shining under Mourinho across both his spells in West London.
