Atalanta players woke up five times to the sound of a fire alarm in their hotel in Manchester last night. ‘I don’t think it was a casual incident’, said Ruslan Malinovskyi’s wife Roskana.

La Dea play against the Red Devils at Old Trafford tonight.

It kicks off at 20.00 UK time.

The Serie A side are the Group F leaders with four points in two games.

They beat Empoli 4-1 on Sunday while Manchester United are under pressure after their 4-2 loss against Leicester City last weekend.

It wasn’t an easy night for Gian Piero Gasperini’s men who could not sleep properly due to the fire alarm in their hotel.

Sky Sport Italia reports the alarm went off five times and made it impossible for Atalanta players to get regular sleep.

Ruslan Malinovskyi’s wife Roksana compalined on Instagram, suggesting that the fire alarm went off on purpose.

“The alarm went off five times, since the team arrived,” she wrote in an Instagram story.

“It was at full power. Do you think it’s just an incident? I don’t think so. Such a warm welcome from local people is terrible. I hope our fans will support our players and, perhaps, the same thing will suddenly happen in a hotel in Italy.”

Manchester United travel to Bergamo next month, facing Atalanta in the reverse fixture at the Gewiss Stadium on November 2.

  1. Italians have a bad rap for being cheaters… i guess the English are saints… disgusting.. doc points off MAN U..

  2. It was not done by any official Man U channels, I think they have way too much to lose as an organization, but more likely organized by Man U fans.
