Alex Telles admits Inter’s trip to Fiorentina is “a decisive match” in the race for Champions League football.

Both sides were challenging for the Scudetto, but Juventus and Napoli appear to have pulled away from the chasing pack, and Milan are coming up behind.

“It’s a decisive match,” Telles acknowledged, speaking to Inter Channel.

“We’re a point behind, so we have to go to Florence thinking only about winning. It’s important we try to reverse the recent trend on the pitch, do better and go out and win.

“We work with the Coach during the week, we have to do everything [Roberto] Mancini asks of us in the game.

“[Yuto] Nagatomo and I have to push on and get crosses in, we’re working and we want to do more to win.”

Telles is part of a large Brazilian contingent for the Nerazzurri, and believes the presence of his compatriots is useful.

“My characteristics are staying forward and getting crosses in, but we Brazilians have to think a bit more about the defensive side of the game that’s very important here in Italy.

“We have to be more focused on the tactical side. It’s important to have so many Brazilian teammates, we talk the same language on the pitch.

“I’ve learned a lot from those who have been here for some time, like Juan [Jesus] who has been here for four years.

“I’m here to work and do well.”
