Lazio are reportedly down to the details in a deal to bring Salernitana attacking winger Loum Tchaouna to the Stadio Olimpico, despite Brighton interest.

The performances of the 20-year-old were some of the very few bright spots in a disastrous campaign for the club, who was relegated rock bottom of the Serie A table.

He managed to contribute six goals and four assists in 35 appearances for Salernitana this season between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

This was enough to earn him links with a possible switch to the Premier League for Brighton and Hove Albion last month.

Lazio win race for Tchaouna

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio had already been working on this move for several weeks and are now finalising the deal.

It is believed to be a transfer worth circa €8m, although 40 per cent of that will go to his former club Stade Rennais.

Tchaouna is seen as the ideal replacement for Felipe Anderson, who is leaving as a free agent for a return to Brazil with Palmeiras.

He brings tactical versatility, able to play on the right, left or in a central role.
