The Euro 2016 clash kicks off in Bordeaux at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

“We will step on to the field with the desire to give lustre to our nation,” declared Tavecchio.

“I think this match will be difficult, but we will face it with what we have at our disposal at this moment.”

Daniele De Rossi will only be fit for the bench, while Antonio Candreva is injured and Thiago Motta suspended.

Tavecchio also commented on the decision to wear black armbands after the terror attack in Dhaka, as so far it’s confirmed nine of the 20 victims were Italian.

“We are stunned by the tragedy that has struck the country. We immediately asked UEFA for permission to play wearing black armbands to participate in the nation’s mourning.”
