Tavecchio: ‘Great relationship with Ventura’

FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio insists “the relationship is great” with Italy CT Giampiero Ventura.

Following the defeat to Spain, the head of the Italian federation said it would be “an apocalypse” if the Azzurri didn’t make it to the World Cup, but he struck a more conciliatory tone today.

“I find it unusual to have to go back over a noun,” Tavecchio said, as reported by ANSA.

“I don’t have to clarify anything with the CT, we have coffee and whisky together every day, the relationship is great.

“The national team is working well. We lost to Spain, one of the best teams in the world, it can happen.

“The important thing is to go well on another path and to qualify.”
