Tavano: ‘Just another game’

Empoli striker Francesco Tavano believes that Sunday’s Tuscan derby with Fiorentina is ‘just another game’.

Tavano spent his youth career with the Viola, before going on to star for their rivals, but the 35-year-old insists he’s just focused on three points.

“We’re pleased to get back to playing a derby, especially for the fans,” Tavano admitted in a Press conference ahead of the game.

“However, for me it will be a game like any other, because I played for a few seasons in Fiorentina’s Primavera team without ever playing for the first team.

“It will be a difficult game on Sunday.

“Fiorentina are a great team with great players like Borja Valero and Mario Gomez.

“As far as we’re concerned though, we’ll approach Fiorentina in the same way we’ve approached every other team this season.”
