Milan assistant boss Mauro Tassotti has underlined that his side are missing the quality of their most creative players.
The Rossoneri have won just one game this season and their bleak streak at San Siro continued with a 0-0 draw against Anderlecht on Tuesday.
“It’s a difficult moment,” the former right-back told Milan Channel. “We tried to compact the midfield to improve our defensive phase, which could then improve the attacking one.
“Our most technical players like Robinho, Alexandre Pato and Riccardo Montolivo, as well as Sulley Muntari, are out and these absences make it more difficult for us.”
Boss Massimiliano Allegri fielded a 4-3-2-1 system last night and Tassotti admitted that there could be further changes after using a 4-3-1-2 and a 4-3-3 this term.
“We could alter the formation as we have a few ideas, we’ll try something with wide attackers,” he continued.
Milan are next in action at the weekend when they will take on Udinese at the Stadio Friuli.
