The Rossoneri legend was on Carletto’s coaching staff in his time at San Siro, and Ancelotti will face his former club at the San Paolo on Saturday night.
“He’s finally back in Italy,” Tassotti said in his interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It’s really nice to have him in our league again, he’s also helped to raise the level. He’s had a good journey, he’s lacked nothing and it’s a motivating destination for him.
“Seeing him at Napoli is something special and surprising. Thanks to his past and his human qualities he’ll have everyone in agreement.
“I don’t think Napoli feel like orphans of Sarri, even if Maurizio did great things.
“It’s easy to work with Carlo because he’s very calm. I’ve never seen him lose control, and the reason is as simple as it is important: he knows very well that to help the team you have to stay calm and cool.
“It comes from his work with [Nils] Liedholm and [Arrigo] Sacchi, he’s a very practical and intelligent Coach.
“He’s making sure his hand is seen at Napoli without upsetting things, they’ve just become a bit less recognisable and repetitive in certain phases of play.
“Will I be cheering for Milan on Saturday? Of course, but I'll tell you one thing: apart from the two games with Milan, I’ll also cheer for Carlo and his Napoli.”
As a Milan legend, Tassotti was asked where the Rossoneri will finish this season.
“I see them among that leading group of five teams with Juventus, Napoli, Roma and Inter that will challenge for the Champions League.
“They need to make sure they don’t start badly though, like happened last year.”
