According to reports in Italy, Inter met with an intermediary this week working on bringing FC Porto striker Medhi Taremi to San Siro as a free agent.

The centre-forward had already been in negotiations for a move last summer, but Inter and Milan were not prepared to meet the asking price, especially considering his contract is due to expire on June 30.

He continues to have no intention of signing a new deal with FC Porto, so is already working on his future as a free agent.

According to FCInterNews, the intermediary working with Taremi was spotted at the Inter headquarters in Milan over the last couple of days.

The meeting was to lay the groundwork for the agreement to join them for free from July 1, aware that there is competition from other clubs for the Iran international.

A January move is out of the question, both for financial reasons and the lack of open slots for non-EU players.

He will celebrate his 32nd birthday in July, but has still scored six goals with four assists in 24 competitive games for Porto this season.
