New Inter signing Mehdi Taremi reveals the importance of ‘respect’ in football and life, which perhaps explains why he would’ve been ‘a detective’ if not for sport.
The centre-forward made the move as a free agent from FC Porto and had a strong start to his experience in the Nerazzurri jersey, scoring five goals in pre-season friendly matches.
He sat down with Inter TV for an interview where he covered his early life and what he would’ve done as a career if not for football.
“I would’ve been a policeman. I’d have been a detective, because I want to find out what happened, what’s going on and maybe I love that.”
The Iran international maintains that ‘respect’ has a crucial role in the sport and in life, which perhaps explains his desire to work in law enforcement.
Taremi cited his best trait as showing “respect for everyone” and his worst is that he gets “angry at disrespect and also who doesn’t do their job correctly. That makes me angry.
“The most important thing in football is the dressing room. The players have to be brothers, to die and fight for each other. We see each other maybe more than our families, so because of that you have some emotional things together.
“If you stay together, the team can be champions.”
