“We need great humility. Expectations have changed, but there are conversations that in my view are out of turn,” the director of sport told Sky Sport Italia when asked about a title push.

“We are well aware of the good work we have done over the last few years. This squad has talent and strength, but we’ve got to take it one step at a time and keep our feet on the ground.

“Scudetto talk doesn’t frighten us, but we have objectives and can go for those. If we reach the final three or four rounds and are still in the fight, we won’t hide away. We can try to win it then.

“However, it’s all premature to talk about that right now and those who love Lazio ought to tread very carefully.”
