The team was thrown into a training retreat ‘indefinitely’ after one point from four Serie A rounds and face Dnipro today in the Europa League.
“Is Pioli up for debate? No, and I say that with conviction,” Tare told Sky Sport Italia.
“I read many things over the last few days, but we are convinced of his work. Having said that, it’s equally true that the team is doing much less well than last season and the performances are unconvincing.
“We have some important options and are convinced we have a team up to the task. In January we’ll try to intervene on the market, as we are missing a centre-back and that is causing us problems.
“We put the squad into a training retreat because the players must be aware of the situation, so they’ve had time to talk about it together. We hope to see a Lazio that will give its heart and soul on the pitch, starting from this evening.”
Lazio face Dnipro tonight and it could be the opportunity to discuss a Douglas transfer for January.
“He is an excellent player, we’re not just discovering that today. He was one of the best in last season’s edition of the Europa League, but for now we haven’t had any contact, as we are tracking another three or four situations.
“We need to find an experienced player who can immediately help the team.”
