“It has been a surreal situation for a while. We have to take the positives from a negative situation, as we have the players who can achieve something important tonight too,” Tare told Sky Sport Italia.

Ciro Immobile and Luis Alberto are among the players ruled out, so Joaquin Correa and Felipe Caicedo start upfront.

“Tucu Correa is a player who can give more, but he was also fundamental in so many situations this season. He knows he can do and say more, but is a fundamental player for our team.”

Francesco Acerbi is playing and takes control of the reshuffled defence.

“Since I started out as a player to today, I’ve never seen a force of nature like Acerbi. He lives for football and that attitude spreads to everyone around him,” continued Tare.

Lazio are up against Torino this weekend, so could they lodge an appeal to have the match postponed because of so many COVID-19 cases?

“We have to wait for all the results of the swabs, on Friday we’ll see what the situation is and then decide on what to do.”
