The Aquile are in Group F and can be relatively pleased with the outcome of the draw in a potentially very balanced group.

“As a first impression, it’s a very good group,” Tare told Lazio Style Radio.

“Our team is capable of fighting it out with anyone, even if they have more experience in this competition. Borussia Dortmund have a great deal of experience, especially in recent years, and are doing well with their new coach. They always play attacking and entertaining football.

“Zenit are a classic Russian side, very physical. The players who make the difference there are the Brazilian Malcom and upfront Artem Dzyuba, although he had a few difficulties lately.

“As for Club Brugge, they are pleasant to watch and try to be attacking, with interesting midfielders who are also capable of scoring goals. They are regulars in the Champions League and will have their say in this group.”

Lazio have not been in this tournament for 13 years, so this is a new challenge for Tare and coach Simone Inzaghi.

“We must make sure that we are ready to face every game with the right determination. This is a unique experience and it can help our team to grow.

“Enthusiasm is important and this tournament will give us plenty of it.”
