Former Juventus midfielder Marco Tardelli was unimpressed with Paul Pogba’s latest issue and called on the club to place further trust in their youngsters.

The Frenchman’s return to Turin has been blighted by injuries for the entirety of this season, limiting him to just 35 minutes of Serie A action since his arrival last summer. The hope was that Pogba had finally started to recover and he featured in Juventus’ last two games, but this belief was quickly dashed.

Pogba was not included in Juventus’ squad to face Sampdoria, out for an apparent muscle injury. He was also left out of the team that beat Freiburg in the Europa League on Thursday, although that absence was punishment for turning up late to a team meeting.

Speaking on Rai Due, Tardelli weighed in on Pogba’s latest issues and what Juventus should do next.

“I don’t know if it’s true that he got injured, but today Pogba is the one who gives Juventus the most problems.

“I hope the Bianconeri manage to improve with the youngsters, they certainly will if they give them confidence.”

Contracted to Juventus until June 2026, things have not gone to plan for Pogba this season and the club will be desperate for him to find some consistency in the near future.
