Marco Tardelli believes ‘Juve can get through’ against Bayern and reveals he didn’t sleep before the 1982 World Cup final.

The former Juve midfielder is fondly remembered for his iconic celebration after scoring in the 3-1 final victory over West Germany.

Today Tardelli was inducted into the Italian Hall of Fame in the ‘Italian veteran’ category.

“Juve-Bayern? I think Juve can do it because Bayern are without their defence,” he said at the award ceremony.

“Juve are a healthy, strong team and have a chance of getting through.

“The night before the World Cup final? Usually I never slept. I went around the rooms and the corridors of the hotel, where I met Enzo Bearzot. He was a great man, he often stopped to speak with me.”
