Brighton are still looking for a replacement for Graham Potter and negotiations with top choice Roberto De Zerbi are going well, reports suggest.

The 43-year-old Italian coach has been out of work since the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, which forced him to leave Shakhtar Donetsk less than a year after he took over. De Zerbi’s exciting 4-2-3-1 brand of football has not been forgotten and it only seems like a matter of time until he takes on a new job.

As reported by SportItalia, talks between De Zerbi and Brighton are progressing positively and there’s optimism from both parties that a full agreement can be reached soon. The former Sassuolo and Shakhtar coach is the Premier League side’s top choice and they’re hoping to secure their man soon.

De Zerbi shot to prominence after shining during his three-year spell with Sassuolo, where he made the Neroverdi play a fast and positive game that saw them average 1.38 points per match.
