Tagliavento promoted to Vice-President

Former Serie A referee Paolo Tagliavento has been promoted to Vice-President by Serie C side Ternana.

Tagliavento became team manager of Ternana last summer, in his first role since retiring as a match official.

However, he has moved up the ladder after Stefano Bandecchi officially became the club’s sole director.

The 46-year-old worked in Serie A for 14 years and was a FIFA and UEFA referee between 2007 and 2017.

The 46-year-old worked in Serie A for 14 years and was a FIFA and UEFA referee between 2007 and 2017.

Despite his career as an international official, he is considered a controversial figure in Italian football after testifying during the Calciopoli scandal in 2006.

Critics also accused him of being pro-Juventus after he disallowed Sulley Muntari’s goal during the Bianconeri’s 1-1 draw with Milan in February 2012.

He later came under fire for his role as fourth official in Juve’s match against Inter towards the end of last season.
