The 44-year-old actually took charge of this fixture last season, when Marcos Alonso’s goal for the Viola was cancelled out by Gonzalo Higuain in a 1-1 draw.
Elsewhere, Paolo Mazzoleni will be the man in the middle as Inter welcome Lazio to San Siro, Gianpaolo Calvarese taking charge of Roma-Chievo.
