Genoa have confirmed that a deal has been done with Roma which will see Panagiotis Tachtsidis move to the capital.

“It has been agreed, Tachtsidis will go to Roma in a co-ownership,” Genoa CEO Pietro Lo Monaco told Sky Sport Italia.

The 21-year-old has been specifically requested by new boss Zdenek Zeman who, while in charge of Pescara last season, was impressed with the player’s form at Verona.

Tachtsidis is a midfielder who was signed by Genoa in 2010 from AEK Athens. He’s also spent time on loan at Cesena and Grosseto.

Roma admitted earlier today that the player was on their wanted list.

Lo Monaco also confirmed that 19-year-old goalkeeper Mattia Perin, who spent last season on loan at Padova, would be part of the Grifone’s first team squad.

“Perin will not be moving to Pescara,” he added. “He will stay at Genoa, as will [first-choice goalkeeper] Sebastien Frey and [striker] Alberto Gilardino.”
