Milan attacking midfielder Adel Taarabt says he never doubted his ability even while struggling at Championship side QPR.
The Moroccan moved to the Rossoneri on loan from Rangers in January and has made a promising start to life at San Siro.
“Maybe people weren’t expecting it but I am not surprised,” Taarabt told La Repubblica.
“I know my qualities and I knew that with good teammates alongside me, as I have here in Milan, I would be able to show them.
“Let’s also say that recent circumstances have favoured me!
“I am extremely satisfied with how I have started here.
“Now I have a few months left to persuade Milan to sign me permanently.
“I like scoring but even more than that I like creating goals for others, it’s my speciality.
“It’s just that at Milan so far I have played on the left and right, not in my best position which is in the middle behind the striker.
“And I have never defended as much as I have been, using up a lot of energy!”
The 24-year-old was then asked to compare Serie A to the English leagues.
“The technical level is no different,” he replied.
“The difference is the attitude of the teams at the bottom of the league.
“In Italy they defend but in England they still try to attack.
“English fans would never have accepted it if their team defended in the same way as Bologna did against us, for example.”
