Multiple reports claim Wojciech Szczesny is among Bayern Munich’s targets, but according to Italian sources, the Juventus goalkeeper is unlikely to leave if he won’t be guaranteed a starting spot in Germany.

BILD Sport journalist Christian Falk reported on Wednesday that Szczesny is among the goalkeepers on Bayern Munich’s agenda, with the Bavarians looking for a potential replacement for the injured Manuel Neuer.

With Yann Sommer in talks to join Inter, Szczesny has become one of the candidates for Bayern’s goal, but according to Tuttosport and Calciomercato.com, this doesn’t necessarily mean the ex-Arsenal keeper will leave Juventus.

Although the Bianconeri would be open to listening to offers for the 33-year-old, one of the highest earners in Turin, Tuttosport claims Szczesny would not accept to become a second-choice keeper once Neuer returns to action.

The Germany international is working on his recovery as he wants to be included in the team for Euro 2024 next year, so he expects a starting spot once he’s back from his injury.

According to Tuttosport, Bayern may also need Szczesny to take a pay cut to move to the Allianz Arena. As per Calciomercato.com, talks between the two clubs are not at an advanced stage, but Bayern have sounded out Szczesny’s availability with his entourage.

Szczesny’s Juventus contract expires in June 2025.
