Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has been linked with a sensational return to Arsenal in the summer and it’s no secret that the Poland international has special memories with the Gunners, as he proved during his unveiling press conference in Turin in 2017.

The Standard has reported that Arsenal are considering Szczesny’s return as the Gunners may need to sign homegrown players in the 2024 summer transfer window.

The Poland international left London in 2016, joining Roma on a one-year loan, but the following season, he signed for Juventus on a permanent €17m transfer.

When Arsenal question reduced Juventus star Szczesny to tears

During his unveiling as a new Juventus player, he was asked if he had hoped for a different end in North London, but Szczesny struggled to hold back the tears and said only a few words: “It’s a difficult question. I spent 11 years there.”

Szczesny didn’t even finish his answer, apologising for being emotional.

Juventus will likely listen to offers for Szczesny in the summer. The 34-year-old is one of the highest earners in Turin and the Old Lady have identified Monza’s Michele Di Gregorio as his replacement.
