Juventus play their traditional pre-season friendly against the Under-23 side today, but there’s a surprise as Wojciech Szczesny has already recovered from injury.
The family affair at Villar Perosa is part of every pre-season preparation and has been for decades.
It kicks off this afternoon and coach Max Allegri pulled a surprise by including Szczesny in the starting XI.
The goalkeeper was reported to be out with a muscular problem, which also put him at risk for the season opener next weekend.
However, he is playing today, while Weston McKennie, Paul Pogba, Federico Chiesa, Mattia De Sciglio and Marley Ake are all out of action.
