Wojciech Szczesny said goodbye to Juventus fans before a Serie A match against Napoli at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday: ‘You made me feel at home.’

Juventus host Antonio Conte’s Napoli at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday in one of the big games of Serie A Round 5.

Before kick-off, fans paid tribute to Szczesny, who terminated his contract in August, just a few weeks before announcing his retirement.

Szczesny received a special shirt from Juventus President Gianluca Ferrero before addressing the fans.

“Thank you for seven years of love, but especially for the love you showed me this last month,” he said.

“You made me feel so loved and respected even if I knew I couldn’t repay you with my saves. You made me feel at home. This is my home and this is my family. Thank you!’

Szczesny made 252 appearances with the Bianconeri, joining the club from Arsenal in 2017.

The former Poland international won three Serie A titles in Turin.
