Poland and Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will ‘try to take home a positive result’ against Italy in the Nations League and would be happy with a draw.

The Nations League match kicks off on Sunday at 19.45 GMT at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio-Emilia.

“We will try to take home a positive result, I don’t know if that’ll be a win or a draw against a very strong Italy team, I’d be happy with it being a positive result,” Szczesny told RAI Sport.

“If it has to be a draw, I’d rather it be 0-0 so I keep a clean sheet!”

Poland have been rotating their goalkeepers on international duty, so while Bologna’s Lukasz Skorupski played in a 2-0 friendly against Ukraine, Lukasz Fabianski is expected to face the Netherlands next week.

“There are three games over this break for international duty, so we did talk with the coach and he assured us we’d all get playing time. I am going to play away from home against Italy.”
