Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny recently sat down to answer questions from a budding set of young reporters in a video for the club’s media channels.

During his questioning from the youngsters, the Bianconeri stalwart reviewed his continued longevity with Juve, while also chatting about  ex-teammate and current Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta and former Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney.

One child began with: “It’s your seventh year with Juventus, how do you continue performing so well?,” to which Szczesny replied: “I can’t imagine playing for a club that doesn’t fight for major titles. At Juventus, the goal is to win trophies every year, which drives me to always stay concentrated.”

“What’s your secret behind staying so well presented?,” was the next question.

“I used to play with Mikel Arteta, who is now the Arsenal coach. He used to head the ball and his hair would never move out of place. I asked what he uses in his hair, and he told me he didn’t use anything.

“I grew my hair when I went to Roma,” He continued. “The coach was Luciano Spalletti. One day he asked me ‘why do you keep touching your hair every time you concede?,’ and I told him, ‘Boss, my hair keeps covering my eyes, I can’t see anything.’

“He told me to put something in it, or to cut my hair, I did both. Now it’s just nice and neat,” he concluded.

The final question of the day was on the topic of the best attackers he had faced in his career.

Szczesny replied: “One player who scared me a bit when we played against Barcelona or Argentina was Messi, because, it’s Messi.

“The other who scored a lot of goals against me was Wayne Rooney, he put a hat-trick past me one game.

“And the other would be Cristiano Ronaldo, but I see him more as my ex-teammate than as an opponent these days, so I would say Rooney and Messi.”
