Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny claims the win against Bologna was ‘the turning point’, says it’s 'strange' to resume after the long break and expects having to ‘sacrifice’ to win the Scudetto.

After losing the Coppa Italia Final, Juventus returned to Serie A with a positive result at the Renato Dall’Ara against Bologna.

“Bologna was the turning point, from now on every game is like a Final,” Szczesny told Juventus TV. “It’s very strange [to resume after three months]. Very strange, but we are on the right path.

Juventus resumed Serie A with a 2-0 win against Bologna and sit four points above Lazio in the Scudetto fight, as the Biancocelesti lost 3-2 against Atalanta on Wednesday.

“The game against Bologna was the best so far after the long break. We have seen growth from a physical point of view, but we seemed mentally stronger as well.

“We scored two goals, created further chances, we saw improvement.

“I expect a very difficult championship. Lazio are very strong, you have to see how they will perform in the next game.

“I think Atalanta looked very well and Inter are physically well too. So, all the matches are Finals for us. You must sacrifice and have two months with a healthy lifestyle to bring home the remaining two trophies.”

Szczesny and Gianluigi Buffon have both kept the goals out at the other end as Juventus haven’t conceded since losing 1-0 to Olympique Lyonnais in the Champions League on February 26.

The Poland international was happy with the defensive work after keeping his ninth clean-sheet in Serie A on Monday.

“We have improved a lot, not just at the back. The defence is much more covered by the midfielders, who help the returning wing-backs.

“We defend more like a team. In the last two games we have not conceded many chances. Against Bologna, the only chance came after my poor pass. We are on the right path."
