Swiss coach Lucien Favre insists his compatriots deserved to eliminate ‘the worst Italy I’ve ever seen’ from EURO 2024.

Former Nice and Borussia Dortmund coach Favre strongly criticised Luciano Spalletti’s Italy during an interview with Tuttosport.

“I was so happy with my teammates who deserved to eliminate the worst Italy I’ve ever seen,” he said.

“Chiesa almost looked like a phantom. You must have courage and play young players like Spain did. Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal, the next Golden Boy, and Pedri and Gavi could not be called up because of a knee surgery.”

During the same interview, Favre praised new Juventus coach Thiago Motta but warned that the Bianconeri target Jean-Clair Todibo “still lacks something” to become a top player.

  1. Not as happy as I was when he and his compatriots, who have never won anything and probably never will, lost in the most heartbreaking way, on penalties, to a star studded but under performing England! Arrivederci 💚🤍♥️

  4. Mike, wtf are you talking about?
How long have you been watching football?
    Scotland set the worst record.
Italy were terrible but managed a 1-0 loss to Spain, the eventual champions.
So to say that they were worse than Scotland is a bit of a stretch bro.
    Geez🤦
